Cl You surely know our friendly Friday Harbor US Post Office counter employee Yvonne Bowman. She is always ready with a kind word and smiling eyes. On December 24 her beloved husband Gary Bowman passed away due to an aortic dissection. He is known by many for his kindness, humor and quick wit.
Gary did not have life insurance. This has been a devastating loss and a huge, unexpected financial burden for Yvonne. She has always felt the island community was her family (many of us do as well.) You can feel Yvonne's caring attitude when you see her. Throughout the years, she has been a big contributor to SJI charities in actions and deeds. It's all about Islanders taking care of Islanders. Now, Islanders can assist kind and gentle Yvonne. |
